The Best Cigar Brands of 2022

While we believe Gadsden has some of the finest cigars on earth - we are still aficionados at heart, and wanted to give a nod to the 5 runners up.

In no particular order, they are: Hoyo de Monterrey, Arturo Fuente, Ashton Classic, My Father Le Bijou 1922, and Rocky Patel Premium Cigars.

All of these brands offer complex flavor profiles and are made with high-quality tobaccos. If you're looking for a delicious cigar to enjoy, any one of these would be a great choice. Let's take a closer look.

Hoyo de Monterrey

The Hoyo de Monterrey has made this brand a favorite among many smokers. Its blends are known for their flavor and quality. This brand also has a special edition known as Escogidos. These are specially crafted for La Casa del Habano, which is a Habanos franchise store. These cigars are built with the highest standards of quality and have a 49 ring gauge.

Arturo Fuente

With a long history of quality cigars, Arturo Fuente has established itself as a top name in the industry. Founded in 1924, the company has survived numerous fires and hurricanes. Today, it has a cigar factory in the Dominican Republic, which has been a home for the company since the 1940s.

The cigars from the Fuente company are considered some of the rarest cigars in the world. These cigars are only sold in limited quantities, and some of them are never sold. Others are made for charitable purposes, or are only available in certain markets.

Ashton Classic

Ashton cigars are hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic using only the best tobaccos. These premium cigars go through a multi-year fermentation and aging process. They are known to offer a complex smoke, and the brand is sold in more than 60 countries.

Ashton cigars have been around for over 25 years, and they have six distinctive styles and blends. With each new release, the Ashton name continues to grow in popularity and demand. The best place to find Ashton cigars is online at Cigar King, where you can buy five-packs, boxes, and variety packs.

My Father Le Bijou 1922

The My Father Le Bijou 1922 is a full-bodied cigar. It is made by Don Pepin, a company that is known for excellence. The tobaccos used in this cigar are grown in Nicaragua and Ecuador. The wrapper is Habano Oscuro and imparts a rich flavor. The cigar has a sweet/salty finish.

The classic cigar has a rich and smooth taste with a complex blend of notes. The blend is balanced and shows notes of cedar and dark chocolate. It also ends with a firm nub and cool temperature.

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars are amongst the best-selling brands in America, according to Cigar Aficionado. The company is committed to supporting causes and charities. They are involved with the Juneteenth Foundation, which means a portion of their profits go to that organization. The company uses a massive humidor to produce their cigars. Each cigar is also individually numbered and limited to 75 pieces.

Rocky Patel Premium Cigars' portfolio is wide-ranging. They offer a variety of cigar sizes, including a corona Gorda that has the skinniest ring gauge in the industry. Another of their most popular brands is their Montecristo, which is a full-bodied, full-flavored cigar made from Nicaraguan tobaccos.

Elegancia

Don Pepin Garcia has collaborated with Ashton Cigars to create Elegancia, which is made from Ecuadorian and Connecticut shade tobaccos. This cigar does not have a large nicotine content, but it is rich in flavor. It starts as a mild-bodied cigar, but it quickly builds to a medium-to-full strength. It also boasts a rich, creamy finish.

While Cuban cigars are largely forbidden for the general public, cigars from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua are enjoyed in the U.S. by the largest number of cigar consumers. With a thriving cigar industry, the U.S. is home to many high-end brands.
